About Me
Photos by Akos Major.
I have been interested in photography and video since I was in high school. Back then it was the old school Black & White film, then I had to go into the school photo lab to develop and print the pictures.
We also had a television program at the school where we had our own news program, where I carried around the big camera on the shoulder and the VHS Recorder over the other shoulder. Then go back to the studio and edit the videos.
Over the years I have had various cameras, usually some sort of small point and shoot that I would use to take pictures while I was travelling for work. And for awhile I carried around a small camcorder for some video or even a Flip Video Camera.
Then the first DSLR’s started to come out and I got a Nikon D50. That changed everything, no more having to take the film to the store to get developed and printed. Suddenly I could take the pictures, go home and open them up on the computer.
That lead me to get my first MacBook, the first Intel based machine they made. Being able to edit the photos and video off my laptop, darn what a great world ;-)
Over the years I would upgrade my camera:
A D5100, going from a 6 MB photo to 16 MB and video!
A T2i for playing with some video, I saw everyone was using the T2’s and T3’s for video, so I wanted to try it out
A OMD EM-10, I wanted to try out the Micro 4/3 cameras and have something a little smaller to travel with
Recently, I ventured into the full frame world and got a Sony A7ii. This seemed to get the spark going again and I started getting out to take more pictures.
Of course the fact that I can edit all of this on my laptop or even my iPad makes it great. Especially when I think back to the high school days and I needed a dark room or a full television studio to do the work. No I can pretty much do it anywhere I want.
I really haven’t done a website before, so I figured why not create a website to show off the photos. That will force me to pay attention to the website and do occasional updates ;-)
That is it for now.
